The Cultures of Italian Migration is a collection of essays on topics that are both historically long-term, such as emigration from Italy to the Americas and southern Pacific Ocean, and on the more contemporary phenomena of immigration to Italy from other parts of the world, including Africa. It is possible to preview part of Chapter 8, entitled Italiani agli antipodi: Italian immigrants in New Zealand by Associate Professor Sarah Patricia Hill. Professor Hill explores the history of the Italian presence in New Zealand from the first presumed visit of Antonio Ponte, sailor on Capitan Cooks' first voyage the the Pacific, reaching New Zealand in 1769, through to recent times and the Te Papa exhibition Qui Tutto Bene (2004-2007). The full chapter of Italiani agli antipodi: Italian immigrants in New Zealand (pages 127-139) can be requested on the website ReseachGate.
