In 1967 a group of Italian tunnellers were brought to New Zealand to work on the New Zealand Electricity Department's The Tongariro Power scheme. Nine years later they celebrated the first "holing" of the longest hydro tunnel in the world. This programme looks at their work, their social life, their wives and families. This video is currently available for viewing at the Ngā Taonga media library on weekday afternoons from noon to 4pm.
